Today, we very sadly said goodbye to Buffy Puggle the pugglicious dog with plenty of personality. She really brightened our lives and was a good pal. We all will miss her terribly.
It is rather unbelievable to us still. Today she chased after the mailman as he was driving by and was hit by his vehicle and killed instantly. We are glad she suffered no pain but are still in shock over the loss of our dear friend, Buffy.

Buff the Magic Puggle
Okay, feeling silly and creative, we made up a song for Buffy.
Sung to the tune of "Puff the Magic Dragon":
Buff the magic puggle
lived in the trees
and frolicked in the Ozark mists
in a land called the Valley!
Just smile and nod. :)

Staying Warm

Well, Buffy is now just days away from 5 months of age. She did amazingly well with the Christmas tree. She didn't attack it at all, but she did enjoy sleeping under it on the little red blanket. We were very surprised... and pleased.
She does very well with getting appropriate toys to chew or play with. She's learned everything quickly and with just a little repetition and praise.
She seems to be pretty well housebroken. We achieved this and overcame the cold-weather backslide by offering her a treat each time she went outside, did her business, and came back to the door. Now, she seems intent on training us to give her treats on demand! She'll go over to the shelf where the treat can is stored and try to get it down. Or, she'll get our attention and when we follow her she'll go to the treats. Sometimes, she'll go outside, walk around a bit then come back in... just for a treat. Hey, we're just happy she's not having accidents in the house!
She is big enough to actually go in and play with Layla now and the two of them continue to be quite entertaining.
She's settled down a bit, but in the evening she still has an energetic time of play. One of her favorite games is "Buffy Bed Troll". I've got to get that on tape and show it. It's a lot of fun to play with her. She'll steal something and run under the bed with it. Then, she'll hide there and growl or snip playfully as we try to get the item. She'll stick her nose from under the end of the bed to watch us and see which side we are going to. Then, she'll go to the other side, run out and run around as if saying, "you can't catch me" all the while.
